This tour starts and ends in New Delhi. You’ll need to fly into New Delhi International Airport to meet your tour guide, and we recommend flying home from this airport at the end of your trip, as well. 

The beauty of this group style of travel is that it caters to travellers who are travelling solo and who want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.

Rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. Solo travellers will be paired with another traveller of the same gender.

There is also an optional single supplement available on most trips for travellers who prefer to have their own room. 

This trip is designed for travellers aged 18 and up. Most people travelling on this tour are generally aged between 18 and 35, but there is no upper age limit; you’re only as old as you feel!

India requires all international visitors to present a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months validity) upon arrival. 

You will also need a visa to enter India, and the type of visa you need will vary depending on where you’re from. You will only be able to apply for the visa within 30 days of your arrival date.

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip. You’ll need to be covered for any personal requirements and pre-existing medical conditions as well as cancellation charges, medical expenses, and repatriation costs in the event of an accident or illness. 

Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers might like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for meals, drinks, shopping, and tipping. 

You can typically purchase a meal out for 2-4 AUD (150-300 INR). However, there are always more expensive options. For a meal at a mid-range, sit-down restaurant, you can expect to pay around 6-20 AUD, not including alcohol. 

You will receive a packing checklist in your pre-departure pack after booking. This pack will also include all the best travel tips for your tour. If there’s something specific you'll need that you might not have thought of, this checklist will let you know. For most countries, we'd recommend something to cover your shoulders and knees in case you visit any temples or other religious buildings where they are required.

Due to limited vehicle space and strictly enforced road laws regarding weight limits, your main piece of luggage must be soft-sided and weigh no more than 15kg/33lb. You can also bring a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, sunscreen, etc when you’re exploring during the day.

We would always recommend packing your things in a backpack over a suitcase. Suitcases are not ideal for travelling as even if they have wheels it’s very hard to pull them across the beach. If it's your first time with a backpack, you’ll never look back after it!

The accommodation on this trip is twin share and you will stay in hotels.

On day 2 the accommodation will be an airconditioned overnight train where you will be sharing with a maximum of 5 other people.

This is a great bonding experience and it is a great eco-friendly way to travel long distances in India.

You will have time during the day before the train to get snacks, drinks and other things to make yourself comfortable. As long as you have earbuds you will have a great night's sleep - or you can stay up all night people-watching too if that's more up your street!
 

If you have an allergy or food preference you must let us know so we can inform your group leader.

We also recommend printing out allergy cards in the local language. These cards can be easily found on Google and are great to carry as they can be shown to the restaurants we eat at to explain your allergy in depth and make sure nothing gets lost in translation.

If there is a cooking class on the tour we will also let them know to make it as safe and as inclusive as possible.
